Who Is Brad Sugars?
Brad Sugars, 38, is an Australian entrepreneur and author. He is CEO and founder of ActionCOACH, the world’s number one business coaching and executive coaching firm, with more than 1,000 offices in 26 countries.
Brad Sugars says that he learned the value of leverage when he was fifteen and started his first business, subcontracting friends to do deliveries for his paper route. But his entrepreneurial spirit seems to have developed much earlier, at the tender age of seven, when he sold his Christmas presents to his brothers.
Brad Sugars was born to Raymond and Judith Sugars in Brisbane, Australia on May 28th, 1971. His early childhood years were spent in Darwin and Adelaide; then the family moved back to Brisbane.
While a student at Queensland University of Technology, he earned a degree in Business Accounting, and he started and worked in several business ventures, including a pizza wholesaler, a magazine, and a women's retail store. He also started a photocopying business which was the first of its kind in Australia, and later launched a newsletter which he sent out to customers.
Brad Sugars joined forces in 1993 with Robert Kiyosaki, another author and entrepreneur, to teach marketing and business development strategies. This program was quite successful, and led Sugars to set up Action International in Brisbane that same year.
After deciding that the franchise model was the best way to leverage his business development systems, Sugars expanded as a franchise into Asia in 1997. This franchisee model proved successful to the extent that, over the next four years, there was a network of offices established in Europe, Canada and the United States.
Action International was re-branded ActionCOACH in 2006. Since the company first started-up, millions of people have been trained worldwide through books, DVDs, workshops and seminars on how to operate and manage a successful businesses.
To date, tens of thousands of businesses and business owners have used the ActionCOACH methodology in their organizations.
Brad Sugars is a world renowned author, entrepreneur and self-made millionaire. Besides being a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine, he has also published 14 books, including the best selling “Instant Success” series published by McGraw-Hill.
